「レット･イット・グロウ」というこの曲。
エリック・クラプトンの隠れた名曲でしょうか。
若い頃のアルバム『４６１オーシャンブールバード』の中の一曲です。
この曲が昔からとても好きでした。

クラプトンは、華やかな名声・天才ギタリストという名の陰に
紆余曲折、いろいろありました。
親友の奥さんに恋焦がれちゃったり。
それで薬物・アルコール中毒に陥ったり。
やっとその女性と一緒になったのに別れちゃったり
幼い息子を事故で亡くすという痛ましい出来事もありました。

人は悩んだり傷ついたり苦しんだり
絶えず十字路に立って迷います。

そんな時こそ
自分への愛、他の人への愛は、
枯れさせないよう
大切に育てていかなくてはと思うのです。

小さな希望の火は消してはいけないと…。

晴れの日も　雨の日も　雪の日も。
そして風の日も。

私の期待に応えてあげられるのは
自分自身しかありません。

全ては自分の糧になったと
いつかきっと笑って話せる日も来るはず。

嫌なことより楽しいこと嬉しいことを
数えたほうが幸せであり
周りをもまた、幸せにできるのだと思います。
